Reporting to NOC Manager



  • Digis Squared office in Luanda, Angola


Main accountabilities

  • Operation & Administration of all VAS platforms, including multiple Operating systems, Databases types
  • Investigate, analyze and troubleshooting for any escalated case
  • Regular audit and Health check on all VAS platforms
  • Planning & design of new VAS services in full co-ordination with business teams if needed
  • Ensuring right dimensioning of existing & new services
  • Handle VIP cases and requests
  • Handle critical AD-HOC reporting involving VAS related to other domains
  • Initiate and manage cases with different vendors related to different VAS services, if required
  • Handle communication with support, and other domains for any technical inquiries or investigations
  • Management & Handling Acceptance and Launching new services
  • Create, Verify and Apply Change request for all VAS nodes
  • Deployment for procedures of changes on all VAS nodes
  • Automating mandatory processes or reports
  • Create necessary scripts for monitoring or reporting on any VAS node
  • Verify FO daily Dashboard related to all VAS services
  • Create and analyze with PM VAS KPIs and related thresholds for all VAS services



Technical Skills

Minimum experience – do not apply if you don’t have this,

  • Fluent in written and spoken English, Portuguese is a plus


Additionally, you have/you are,

  • Written and spoken Portuguese is an advantage
  • 4-5 years working experience
  • Very good knowledge about VAS services and platforms like: SMSC, USSD, RBT, Call Completion, SMPP-GW, Service Delivery platforms, MMSC, WAP-GW
  • Knowledge of Mobile Network topology and protocols
  • Good knowledge on SS7 and its application protocols
  • Excellent knowledge of shell scripting
  • Collect and analyzes required logs & traces during post fault investigations
  • Handles & executes change requests within allocated timeframe
  • Provide technical support to identify the root cause of problems and give preventive guidance to avoid same issue happening again
  • Maintains and performs L2 health checks
  • Excellent Linux, Oracle, Mysql administration & scripting skills
  • Familiar with virtualization & cloud concepts
  • Familiar with Hardware acceptance & installation; and capable to perform any Hardware related activities
  • Follow up opened cases with VAS vendors and ensure to close them as per the agreed SLA
  • On call availability 24&7
  • Develop/enhance processes for speed recovery in case of emergencies & outages
  • Proper handling of customer complaints
  • Experience with Apache, Tomcat, Jboss
  • Excellent usability of tracing tools & applications
