Location

  • Digis Squared office in Cairo, Egypt (only), handling global Digis Squared Managed Services projects
  • Reporting to MS Director

 

Required experience

  • You have an absolute minimum of 5 years’ experience 
  • Excellent Proven Linux/Unix System administration skills
  • Excellent Proven hands-on working experience in Nokia Netact & NSP application with experience in Telecom & strong in telecom concepts
  • Worked in different OSS & Reporting Automation projects in Mobile Operators
  • Good knowledge to deal with various OSS platforms of different domains (RAN, Core, Charging/Billing, VAS)
  • Experience with OSS Communication Protocols: SNMP, CORBA, HTTP, etc… to provide southbound and northbound interfaces to communicate with Network nodes & elements
  • Experience with Solaris and Linux Operating system as System Administration level and Database Administration (SQL, Oracle)
  • Experience with virtualization & cloud technologies (VMWare, Openstack, Kubernetes, Containers etc)
  • Experience with HP Blade Solutions
  • Excellent development capabilities with Perl, Shell Script, Groovy and JavaScript for developing automation
  • Scripting / Programming: Java, Perl, CORBA, SQL, Python)
  • Detailed knowledge of Operation Systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris, HP-UNIX)

 

Accountabilities

  • Hands-on experience in providing technical support for complex multi-vendor and 3rd party OSS Applications (Analysis, Troubleshooting & fixing the issues reported) on the applications already deployed to end customer/user
  • Administer Nokia & Network OSS platforms, probing platforms and other OSS critical applications for Digis Squared customers
  • Troubleshooting of the systems or application errors
  • Takes action before problems become critical: system/hardware failures, hanged processes, scripts not having desired output, application errors, data flows & doing the needed preventive maintenance
  • Technical tasks to add and configure new elements by following specifications and procedures, extracting the required data from databases (Oracle, Sybase, MSAccess or others)
  • Respond to requests raised for ongoing issues and troubleshooting. Perform emergency troubleshooting for critical issues in a required timeframe, accordingly to the agreed SLA with the customer
  • Document constantly on managed platforms and maintain a good level of communication with vendors and clients
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault handling and implement temporary and permanent corrective actions. Engage with 3rd party support (hardware or software vendors) to ensure problems are solved within the expected SLA
  • Apply daily routine monitoring and health checks on the OSS systems
  • Implement automated incident detection and optimize the system monitoring
  • Participate in new projects activities, by providing input, implementing or verifying improvements in processes and work instructions, verifying configuration changes
  • Assure support during systems and applications upgrades, conduct User Acceptance Tests, perform sanity checks.
